Seller's Notes

This 1970 Ford Falcon XW GT Replica is a modified Falcon 500 featuring a seller-reported rebuilt 351ci V8 and upgraded RRS front suspension. Its naturally aspirated 5.8 litre V8 is paired with a C4 three-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The odometer currently shows 23,380 km* TMU.

Introduced in 1969, the XW represented a substantial styling revision of the preceding XT Falcon. The GT adopted a 351ci V8, with Windsor engines used initially and Cleveland engines introduced during production. Distinctive bonnet treatments, side stripes and GT identification separated the performance model visually from the wider Falcon range, providing the styling basis for replicas such as this example.

Finished in red with gold side stripes, black bonnet detailing and GT badging, this car has been converted from its original Falcon 500 specification. The May 1970 build plate records engine code S, identifying a 221ci high-compression six-cylinder, transmission code P for a column-shift Fordomatic automatic, and trim code H for two-tone Saddle upholstery. The current cabin features cream-coloured upholstery, front bucket seats, a centre console with floor shifter, a sports steering wheel, replacement VDO instruments, an aftermarket stereo and an electric sunroof. The seller’s specification lists Globe wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, RRS front coilovers, a B&M 3,200-rpm stall converter, an Eaton Truetrac differential within a 31-spline nine-inch rear axle, and a replacement tailshaft. Engine-related upgrades include a camshaft and valve springs, a Holley 750 HP carburettor, an MSD distributor, extractors and a custom mandrel-bent 2.5-inch exhaust with an X-pipe.

The photographed records document mechanical work across several years. Horsepower Industries invoices from December 2021 and January 2022 record a head-and-cam package, including CHI cylinder heads, ARP head bolts, Trend pushrods and an RPM Air-Gap inlet manifold. A Re-Car invoice records repair of the power-steering rack. A handwritten receipt dated 30 May 2025 records rectification of an inlet-manifold oil leak, replacement inlet-manifold gaskets and bolts, and installation of a high-torque starter motor, followed by a road test. The seller also describes the engine and C4 transmission as rebuilt, although the supplied summary does not specify their rebuild dates or subsequent distance travelled.

The seller describes the vehicle’s overall condition as excellent. An Auto Transformers invoice dated 30 September 2022 records metal repairs to the left-rear and right-front doors, work to the right-hand inner sill, and associated preparation, painting and refinishing. The replacement VDO instrumentation means the displayed odometer reading is not presented as verified lifetime mileage.

The gallery contains photographs of parts and repair invoices, a South Australian vehicle-modification requirements letter and a Modified Vehicle Engineering report dated 26 July 2022. The visible engineering report addresses the RRS coilover suspension and steering-rack conversion, including assessment of suspension travel; it does not establish approval of every modification listed.
