Seller's Notes

This matching-numbers Chrysler Valiant Charger with sought-after ‘E37’ option package is a highly correct and rare classic muscle car; and is one of just 134 such examples built. A stamped and documented ‘SOA’ (Special Order Approved) vehicle, it is one of only four E37 cars manufacturered in white. It is powered by the R/T Hemi ‘Six Pack’ 265ci (4.3-litre) inline-six engine (which matches the body tags, D3538-00119) fed by triple Weber carburettors, delivering around 185kW to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission (replacing the original three-speed). Within the last three years this car has been treated to a comprehensive ‘front to back, inside and out’ restoration. It retains all correct markings throughout, including the undercarriage and engine bay. The odometer shows 57,120 kilometres, though this is not warranted. The car is finished in white with a black bonnet, R/T black vertical side stripes, red side badging, and red pinstriping on the grille. The cabin is trimmed in black vinyl. It rides on a set of factory original grey and red 14-inch five-spoke wheels, shod with new Kumho tyres. Equipment includes a correct ‘twin thumbnail’ AM radio, opening front door ‘quarterlight’ vent windows, and a Bluetooth-compatible Kenwood stereo with USB and auxiliary inputs. Accompanying the sale is the car jack, spare wheel, and two keys. Factory specification (as per stamps on tag and vehicle) A66 Black Bonnet A95 R/T interior B51 Brake Booster D53 3.23 LSD Diff E37 ‘Six Pack’ triple Weber carburettors SOA Special Order Approved The car is believed to have been rebodied in the early 1990s. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess exterior and interior condition. A comprehensive restoration was carried out within the last three years. The most recent roadworthiness inspection was reportedly conducted a year ago, resulting in a clean pass. The car was last serviced by Mr Performance in Dandenong in December 2023, which included tuning the carburettors. The seller reports that all new wiring has been installed front to back, and the rear lights have been replaced. A correct and fully reconditioned R/T-specification 3.23:1 limited-slip differential has also been fitted. The Chrysler Valiant Charger was released by Chrysler Australia in 1971 as a short-wheelbase coupe version of the Valiant saloon car, and promptly won Wheels magazine's Car of the Year award for 1971. This R/T dates from the first year of production and features the sought-after E37 option ‘Six Pack’ engine with triple carburettors as well as distinctive black and white bodywork. It would now make a stylish addition to any classic car collection and is sure to attract plenty of interest at any car show or event. The description of this consignment is, to the best of the seller’s knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller and performs a level of due diligence. However, potential buyers must independently satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description. Potential buyers should view or arrange inspections as well as conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to bid or buy. Please note that it is not uncommon for classic or collectible vehicles to have received cosmetic repairs in the past, either to rectify damage or refresh appearance, and this work may be undetectable even upon visual inspection. Unless there is an explicit statement by the seller to the contrary, please assume that any vehicle could have had bodywork or paintwork during its life. Furthermore, photographs may not reflect the true colour or full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to satisfy themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy. This includes by raising enquiries with the seller in the comments section. For vehicles, unless otherwise stated, potential buyers should also assume that any cherished registration may be retained by the seller. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details.
