Seller's Notes
A superb example of the rugged and dependable Japanese 4x4, that benefits from a full restoration. It is powered by a 3.9-litre straight-six petrol engine producing around 125hp, coupled to a three-speed manual transmission, with four-wheel drive via a transfer case with low-range gearing. First registered in 1971, this FJ40 hardtop has been with its current owner for the past decade and has been treated to a full nut-and-bolt restoration over the last seven years. Detailed in a 280-page build folder that is supplied with the vehicle, this 1971 Land Cruiser has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment, with the body taken back to bare metal. The FJ40 is finished in the iconic Rustic Green colour scheme, with a Cream roof and wheels, with Grey upholstery. The engine, gearbox, transfer case and differentials have all been fully rebuilt back to factory specifications. Underneath the vehicle, all new suspension including springs, shocks, and bushes has been fitted, and the braking system replaced with all new components. An all-new Toyota wiring loom has been installed. The vehicle rides on its original wheels, now refurbished, that are wrapped in new Toyo Open Country A/T tyres. There is no known prior body damage. Having benefited from a recent restoration, the Rustic Green paintwork presents in truly wonderful condition, as shown in the gallery. Inside, the Land Cruiser is in excellent condition, with the refurbished and reupholstered seats in great shape. There are a few small marks visible around the cabin, but nothing that detracts from the overall impressive appearance. The original dash and steering wheel present well for their age and there are some marks in the paintwork in the rear of the vehicle. All of the instruments and controls work as they should. There are no known mechanical or electrical faults. This Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser is a superb example of the iconic 1970s 4x4, which has evidently been restored to a very high standard. Presented in the classic Rustic Green and Cream over Grey upholstery, and benefiting from a complete mechanical overhaul, this handsome example of a Japanese classic is reported to want for nothing. With its renowned all-terrain capabilities it is ready to charm its next owner, on or off road.
