Seller's Notes
This R107-generation Mercedes-Benz 350 SL is a charming and robust classic roadster, presented as a rare factory manual example. It is powered by a 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V8, driving the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. First registered in 1973, this 350 SL was previously registered abroad and is now registered in Australia. The odometer indicates 73,512 miles, though this is not warranted. Build year: 1973 This R107-era 350 SL is finished in light metallic blue with either a matching hardtop or a dark blue soft-top, over a blue leather-trimmed interior. It rides on a set of 14-inch chromed ‘Baroque’ alloy wheels fitted with Nankang Econex tyres. Equipment includes air conditioning, a top-tinted windscreen, and original Becker Mexico radio. Accompanied by the owner's manuals, original Becker radio booklet, a Haynes repair manual, and a folder containing a collection of maintenance invoices and registration documents. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: the vehicle was resprayed years ago by a previous owner, there is a minor paint imperfection (a chip from the hardtop being installed), and one minor rust spot is visible on the bonnet. Ariel does not extend. The last maintenance was in May 2026 at an indicated 73,290 miles, which included a new fuel filter, four second-hand injectors, a new vacuum sensor, eight new injector rubbers, the ignition points and spark plugs being replaced, new handbrake shoes, the rear stub axle hub being repaired, and the timing being checked. In September 2026, at an indicated 73,477 miles, technicians at All Types Automotive replaced all four tyres, fitted two new rear brake hoses, repaired the passenger door chrome moulding, fitted new rear brake discs and pads, and replaced the left-hand rear wheel flange with a complete arm. Other notable maintenance includes minor rust repairs being carried out to the floorpan in July 2026, which also included an underbody treatment being applied after the repairs with five year warranty applicable. The seller states that historic service history documents includes services by Brighton Star Mercedes in June 1999 at 53,276 miles and Mercedes-Benz Sunshine Coast in May 2020 at 71,234miles. The R107-generation Mercedes-Benz 350 SL is a stylish and charming classic roadster, offering a blend of V8 power and open-top motoring. This example is a rare factory manual car presented in an appealing colour scheme and retaining its removable hardtop. It would make a welcome addition to any collection of desirable classics, and promises to be a rewarding companion for weekend drives or classic car show visits alike.
