This Land Rover Series III 109” is a rugged classic utility vehicle, which was rebuilt as a fire truck for the New South Wales Bush Fire Brigade. Power comes from a 64kW 2.6-litre straight-six, paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. It was purchased as a non-runner and recommissioned by the seller over the last five years. The odometer shows 67,582 km, though this is not warranted. The seller notes that they do not know when the vehicle was last registered, though is happy to provide a NSW Blue Slip or Queensland registration certificate to the winning bidder. Build year: 1975 The bodywork of this Land Rover fire truck is finished in red and yellow, with a white roof, NSW Bush Fire Brigade emblems on the doors, and appropriate fire and water-design mud flaps, over a retrimmed grey vinyl interior featuring a black dashboard. It rides on body-coloured 16-inch wheels, wrapped with mixed tyres. Equipment includes a rear tow bar, under-windscreen air vents, an interior battery master switch, a cab light, a roof-mounted loudspeaker and siren, and a spare wheel. Accompanying the vehicle will be a Land Rover Series workshop manual. One ignition key will be supplied. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: the paint is largely original, with fresh paint on the insides of the doors and footwells where rust repairs were done; the paint is faded, with some parts worn through to the metal; the dashboard and seats have been retrimmed. The most recent service was completed in January 2025, which included replacement of the engine oil and other fluids. During the recommissioning process, the footwells were replaced, along with rusted sections of the door frames, the door mirrors, the windscreen wipers, and various engine and electrical components. The brakes were overhauled, and the seats and dashboard were retrimmed. The description of this consignment is, to the best of the seller’s knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller and performs a level of due diligence. However, potential buyers must independently satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description. Potential buyers should view or arrange inspections as well as conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to bid or buy. Please note that it is not uncommon for classic or collectible vehicles to have received cosmetic repairs in the past, either to rectify damage or refresh appearance, and this work may be undetectable even upon visual inspection. Unless there is an explicit statement by the seller to the contrary, please assume that any vehicle could have had bodywork or paintwork during its life. Furthermore, photographs may not reflect the true colour or full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to satisfy themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy. This includes by raising enquiries with the seller in the comments section. For vehicles, unless otherwise stated, potential buyers should also assume that any cherished registration may be retained by the seller. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details.
