1990 Mercedes-Benz G-Class W461

A highly original example of the rugged, military-specification 240GD Wolf. Under the bonnet sits a 2.4-litre inline-four diesel engine, delivering around 53kW / 71hp and 101lb-ft of torque to all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. This W461-generation Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen was originally delivered to the Singapore Army before being exported to Australia, where it is now offered for sale. It features a correct Queensland Government Modification Plate, which is dated May 2022. This 240GD is finished in Navy Green with a folding windscreen, a removable green canvas roof, and half-height doors. The purposeful cabin features two black vinyl-trimmed front seats, two folding and side-facing rear seats, storage boxes, and a removable roof frame. An ammeter and voltmeter are fitted on top of the dashboard, and the exterior features front and rear towing couplings. It rides on a set of grey 16-inch steel wheels, and a spare wheel is mounted on the rear door. The seller states that there was previous minor bodywork damage, which was repaired by Singapore Army soldiers. The resprayed Navy Green paintwork presents very well, with only one scratch on the bonnet and some general ‘patina’ in line with the vehicle’s age and use. A few minor chips can be seen on the wheels, and the tyres are said to be almost new. Inside, the cabin is in very good condition, with some wear and tear visible on the dashboard and a small scuff on the driver’s seat bracket. No electrical or mechanical faults have been detected. A RWC inspection has been carried out, and no advisories were recorded. This 240GD’s most recent service was conducted in Singapore at around 22,000 kilometres. The seller notes that the vehicle has been regularly serviced. This is a well-presented and highly original example of the military-specification Mercedes-Benz 240GD Wolf, which was used by the Singapore Army and has since been correctly exported into Australia.
