Seller's Notes

A very smart example of the rugged military 4x4, offered in fine mechanical health and benefiting from a recent service. It is powered by a 2.4-litre inline-four, which sends 71bhp and 101lb ft of torque to all four wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with locking differentials and selectable low-range gearing for enhanced off-road performance. The odometer currently displays 201 kilometres, however the true mileage is not known. This Mercedes-Benz G240 ‘Wolf’ spent much of its life in Singapore, where it is reported to have been used by the military, before recently being imported into Australia. The seller advises that this vehicle is eligible for full registration or historic registration. This W461-generation G240 is finished in Military Green, with a matching vinyl soft top roof, over a body-coloured interior featuring brown vinyl-trimmed seats. It rides on a set of 16-inch steel wheels shod in Michelin off-road tyres. The vehicle has been fitted with an ammeter and voltmeter atop the dashboard. There is no impact damage present on the bodywork. The Military Green paintwork is in generally very good condition, showing light minor wear and scuffs, which are in line with the vehicle’s military use. Inside, the cabin presents well, with some light wear on the seats, and a general time-earned ‘patina’ on the dashboard and controls, as well as some wear to the paint in the driver’s side footwell. There are no known electrical or mechanical faults with the vehicle, and there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard. This G240’s last service was carried out at an indicated 180 km in Sydney. The work consisted of an engine oil and filter change, along with the replacement of the clutch and brake fluid and the wiring harness, as well as the repair of the clutch master and slave cylinders, wiper blades, engine oil and gearbox oil leaks, injector hoses and window washers. This Mercedes-Benz G240 ‘Wolf’ is an ex-Singapore military example of the reliable and robust off-road vehicle, which would make an ideal 4x4 for utility purposes or for fun top-down road trips in the warmer months. The ‘Geländewagen’ is a highly capable off-roader which spawned the modern day G-Wagon, it is unquestionably a design that has stood the test of time, and this example would make a great addition to any garage. The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading.
