Seller's Notes

This Toyota Land Cruiser PZJ70 is a smart example of the sought-after short-wheelbase 4x4, treated to a ‘facelift’ upgrade across various components. It is powered by a 1PZ 3.5-litre inline-five diesel engine, sending up to 85kW (114hp) and 230Nm (170lb-ft) of torque to all four wheels via an R151F five-speed manual transmission. The enthusiast-owned example has been tastefully modified with later VDJ79 front-end panels to mimic the look of the 2022 70th Anniversary models. It is said to have been the subject of a significant mechanical and cosmetic overhaul over the last two years. The odometer shows 216,013 Km. This handsome Land Cruiser is finished in the timeless hue of Sandy Taupe with purposeful black accents, with the interior featuring a black dashboard, headlining and carpet and grey cloth-trimmed GXL comfort seats. It rides on black 16-inch steel wheels with Mirage MR-AT 172 front tyres and Rapid Ecolander A/T rears. Exterior equipment includes a rear door-mounted spare wheel, black Raptor-painted rear bumper with integral bull bar extensions, black gloss wheel arch extensions and front bumper over-riders, body-coloured front bumper steel with matching Toyota grille badge, black bonnet visor, raised air intake, black door mirrors on extended stanchions, roof rack, rear privacy glass, black tinted side repeaters and black 70th Anniversary B pillar mounted badging. The interior equipment includes a black modern Toyota steering wheel with body coloured Toyota emblem and lower spoke detail mirroring the aesthetics of the grille and bumper, a black dashboard top with a body-coloured glovebox, lower dash and door panels, heater, ventilation and air conditioning, heated rear screen, Sony double din head unit and front door mounted component speakers, interior light, and 70th Anniversary front alloy kick panels The interior layout consists of a carpeted cabin with two GXL cloth-trimmed comfort seats with inertia reel seatbelts and a rubber-lined load bay with an exposed securing loop and hardwearing Raptor black painted wheel arch tubs. The Toyota is supplied with some parts invoices. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: The paintwork still presents smartly after being repainted two years ago but there are some small dents which are said to be hard to notice. Inside, a separate horn switch has been added due to the fitment of a modern Toyota steering wheel. The seller is not aware of any mechanical or electrical faults. The vehicle underwent an inspection test one year ago which resulted in an advisory regarding the brakes. The braking system is said to have subsequently been overhauled. The last maintenance was in April 2022 at 211,151 Km by a qualified mechanic. This included the fitment of the following new parts: wheel bearings, swivel hubs, front and rear brakes, filters, a large aftermarket alloy radiator and an air conditioning condenser and compressor. Engine oil, differential oil, transmission fluid and coolant were all changed at this juncture. The seller informs that a new timing belt and a water pump were professionally fitted during their two-year ownership, with a supporting invoice on file. This 1991 Land Cruiser PZJ70 is reported to be in good condition following a significant programme of refurbishment work. The VDJ79-style front-end upgrades and tasteful modifications have resulted in a smart 70th Anniversary ‘homage’. This hugely capable modern classic Toyota 4x4 should prove to be a characterful and versatile addition to any collection.
