1993 Mercedes-Benz G-Class W463 Pre-Facelift

A refined example of the rare and desirable three-door short wheel-base Mercedes-Benz (W463) 300 GE 4x4. Under the bonnet is the 3.0-litre inline-six, which powers all four wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission, three locking differentials and selectable low-range gearing for enhanced off-road usability. Originally allocated for the Japanese market, it was recently imported from New Zealand, and around $2,000 has been spent on renewing the electrics and wiring. The car was originally finished in Nautical Blue, but it has since been resprayed in Charcoal, over a grey fabric-trimmed interior with elegant wood inlays. It rides on 15-inch five-spoke wheels, shod with Bridgestone Dueler M/T tyres. Factory equipment includes air conditioning, an electric tilt/slide sunroof, electric windows and seat-mounted storage nets. An updated Sony stereo has been installed. The resprayed paintwork presents well overall, with light stone chips on the front end, driver’s door and below the windscreen, along with light scratches on the bonnet. Inside, there is a small tear in the driver’s seat, alongside minor age-related discolouration and creasing in the original upholstery. The seller reports that some of the switches will require new clips to securely fix them into place.
