Seller's Notes

A second-generation (S160) example of the rare Toyota Aristo, which was a Japanese-market version of the Lexus GS, offered in ‘Vertex Edition’ guise. Power comes from the same 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged ‘2JZ-GTE’ straight-six with VVT-I that is found in the hallowed Mk4 Supra, producing 206kW, driving the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission with shift lock and steering wheel-mounted shift buttons. First registered in Japan in 2003, it was imported to Australia with an auction rating of 4.5B and around 39,000 kilometres on the odometer via Iron Chef imports, before being re-registered in New South Wales in February 2021. It has now been with its second Australia-based keeper in Blacktown, New South Wales, for two years. This post-2001 facelift example has a slightly revised grille, revised tail lights, subtly tinted headlamps, and more interior wood trim. As a turbocharged ‘V300’ Aristo, the car also features electronic four-wheel steering, ‘VSC’ electronic stability control, and an automatic transmission with a manual sequential mode. The car is finished in Pearl White, and it rides on aftermarket 19-inch Work Emotion CR Kiwami wheels, shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. The exterior features tinted glass, wind deflectors, an aftermarket cat-back Kakimoto Racing dual-exit exhaust, and uprated BC Racing coilovers. Inside, it has cream leather upholstery and elegant wood trim inlays. Equipment includes VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control), climate control, TRC (Toyota Traction Control), electrically adjustable and heated seats, cruise control, a Toyota Electronic Toll Collection system, and an updated Pioneer head unit with a reversing camera and parking assistance. The original Japanese language owner’s manuals and service book will be included, along with its BC Racing coilover documentation and adjustment tools, a spare key, and a collection of maintenance invoices from its time in Australia. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include a minor patch of rust on the boot lid. The right-rear door actuator is said to need replacing, though the seller is not aware of any further electrical or mechanical faults. The car’s most recent service was carried out by MRC Dyno Services and Performance at 59,082 km in September 2022. An oil change was carried out by 4.Mance Automotive in January 2022 at 51,955 km. The timing belt, water pump, and alternator were replaced by 4.Mance Automotive in June 2021 at 47,530 km as part of a service. Prior to this, a service was carried out by 4.Mance Automotive in in May 2021 at 45,651 km. The aftermarket exhaust was fitted by 4.Mance Automotive in May 2022. The car also benefits from a comprehensive Japanese service history. This is a second-generation (S160) example of the rare Toyota Aristo, which was a Japanese-market version of the Lexus GS, offered in ‘Vertex Edition’ guise. Having been imported to Australia in 2021, it has since been fitted with some tasteful modifications and is now ready to be enjoyed as an exciting yet entirely usable daily driver.
