Introduced in 1999, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI is widely regarded as the most authentic, rally-bred Evo, representing the final generation directly homologated for World Rally Championship competition. Built as a compact all-wheel-drive performance sedan, the Evo VI retained the turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four capped at the era’s 276 hp limit, paired with an advanced AWD system that delivered exceptional traction and responsiveness. The range comprised three core variants—the lightweight RS, the more road-focused GSR, and the iconic Tommi Mäkinen Edition (TME), developed to celebrate Mitsubishi’s WRC dominance and featuring revised suspension, steering, and aero.
