MARKET ANALYSIS
Carrera (2012 to 2016)

Introduced for the 2012 model year, the Porsche 911 Carrera served as the entry point to the 991 generation and marked a significant modernisation of the 911 formula, debuting an all-new platform with a longer wheelbase, wider track, and extensive use of aluminium to improve rigidity and efficiency. In 991.1 form, the Carrera was powered by a 3.4-litre naturally aspirated flat-six with direct fuel injection producing 345 hp, driving the rear wheels via either a 7-speed manual or 7-speed PDK transmission, and was offered in Coupe and Cabriolet body styles. While exact figures for Carrera-only production are not published, the model formed a substantial share of the approximately 233,000 total 991-series cars produced globally, making it one of the highest-volume modern 911 generations. In the Australian market, the 991.1 Carrera was officially delivered in strong numbers and is valued for being the last naturally aspirated base Carrera, with demand today shaped by manual transmission preference, body style, mileage, condition, and specification, as buyers increasingly distinguish early NA 991s from the later turbocharged 991.2 models introduced for 2017.
