Seller's Notes
This Porsche 911 T 2.2 Targa is a stylish and desirable classic air-cooled sports car, which benefits from significant recent restorative maintenance. Under the rear engine lid sits a naturally aspirated 2.2-litre air-cooled flat-six, which sends its power to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. This right-hand drive example is understood to have originally been a German-market example, which was later imported to Australia, where it passed compliance in 2008, and has been with the seller and third Australian owner for two years. The odometer indicates 99,864 km, though this is not warranted. Build year: 1971 This 911 T 2.2 Targa is finished in a striking shade of yellow with a brushed metal targa bar and a black vinyl targa roof panel, over a black leatherette-trimmed interior, punctuated by chrome trim highlights. It rides on a set of 15-inch Fuchs alloy wheels finished in satin-black with anodised ‘petal’ spokes and lips, fitted with Continental PremiumContact 6 tyres. Equipment includes front and rear stabiliser bars, a top-tinted windscreen, a heated rear screen, push-out front quarter light windows, and heater and ventilation controls. This example features an aftermarket front bumper and a Continental stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, USB and auxiliary inputs. The car comes with three keys, a spare wheel, the original owner’s manual, a large amount of registration documents and various documentation dating back to 1989, and a large collection (between 50-100) of maintenance invoices dating back to 2017. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: the car was repainted in 2023, the floor pans and other body parts were repaired at the same time, a brand new dashboard was fitted in 2024, a brand new OEM Porsche Perlon carpet kit was fitted to the interior and frunk, and there is some age-related interior patina. The car’s last roadworthiness test was conducted in December 2024, which is understood to have resulted in a clean pass. This 911’s most recent maintenance was carried out in April 2025 at around an indicated 98,200 km by the owner, which consisted of an engine oil and filter change. The engine and gearbox were overhauled in March 2024. The suspension was overhauled in December 2023. This Porsche 911 T 2.2 Targa is an engaging classic air-cooled sports car, which benefits from significant recent restorative maintenance. Presented with an eye-catching colour scheme, a timelessly stylish silhouette, and a characterful flat-six engine coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox, it would make a fine addition to any assembly of classics, and an enjoyable companion for weekend cruising and classic car show visits alike.
