Debuting in 1999 as the flagship performance version of the R34 Skyline, the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 is widely regarded as the most iconic and desirable GT-R of the classic era. Nicknamed “Godzilla,” the R34 GT-R combined a compact, aggressive body with advanced drivetrain technology, including ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive, Super-HICAS rear steering, and the legendary RB26DETT twin-turbo inline-six, an engine famed for its strength and tuning potential. Output varied by specification and variant, ranging from approximately 327 hp in standard form to well over 493 hp in high-performance factory versions, with notable models including the V-Spec I, V-Spec II, Nür, and the ultra-rare NISMO Z-Tune.
