MARKET ANALYSIS
Club Sport (1987 to 1989)

The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Club Sport (option M637) was a lightweight, track-focused evolution of the standard Carrera 3.2, developed in the late 1980s for drivers seeking a road car with genuine club-racing intent. Built with weight reduction as a priority, the Club Sport featured deleted comfort equipment, uprated suspension, revised engine internals, and a more aggressive driving character while retaining the naturally aspirated 3.2-litre flat-six and rear-wheel-drive layout. It represented Porsche’s philosophy of “less is more” during the G-body era and directly foreshadowed later hardcore models such as the 964 Carrera RS and RS N/GT. Production was extremely limited at approximately 340 cars worldwide, all in coupe form, making it one of the rarest factory Carrera 3.2 variants. In the Australian market, genuine Club Sport examples are exceptionally scarce and almost always imported, with strong collector demand driven by rarity, motorsport intent, and historical significance. Values are influenced by authenticity, originality, documentation, mileage, and condition, with verified, matching-numbers cars sitting firmly at the top of the Carrera 3.2 hierarchy.
