Porsche Cayman for Sale in Australia2006-2016

About the Porsche Cayman

The Porsche Cayman, manufactured globally from 2005 until 2025, has evolved through four generations—the original 987 (2005–2012), the balanced 981 (2012–2016), and the turbocharged 982/718 (2016–2025)—to become a benchmark for mid-engined precision. In the 2026 Australian market, the Cayman has transitioned into a highly sought-after "modern classic" status, particularly as local production of the petrol-powered 718 concluded in late 2024, leaving only limited residual stock across the dealer network. Desirability has spiked for the 981 and 718 GTS 4.0 models, as purists scramble to secure the last naturally aspirated flat-six engines before the nameplate fully embraces an electric future. The local buyer pool is a dedicated group of weekend warriors and "track day" regulars who frequent Sydney Motorsport Park (Eastern Creek) for regularity sprints, as well as collectors looking for a blue-chip investment that out-handles its larger 911 sibling. While the 2026 market is eagerly awaiting the first all-electric Cayman, interest in older manual-transmission cars remains robust, with Australian-delivered examples with full Porsche Centre histories commanding a significant premium. Consequently, market value for 2026 is remarkably resilient, as enthusiasts increasingly view the Cayman not just as an "entry-level" model, but as the pinnacle of Porsche's analogue driving purity.
