About the Toyota Supra MK4 (A80)

Produced from 1993 to 2002, the fourth-generation Toyota Supra (A80) is the model that transformed the Supra from a capable GT car into a global performance icon. Built exclusively as a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive coupe, the A80 was offered with two 3.0-litre inline-six engines: the naturally aspirated 2JZ-GE and the legendary twin-turbo 2JZ-GTE. In Japan, turbo models were sold as RZ and GZ, while naturally aspirated versions carried SZ and SZ-R badges, with manual gearboxes and factory turbos commanding the greatest enthusiasm today. Although production continued until 2002 in Japan, the A80 exited markets like the US by 1998, accelerating its cult status. Total global production is estimated at around 45,000–50,000 units, making it relatively low-volume by Toyota standards. In the Australian market, the Mk4 Supra was officially sold and has become one of the most sought-after Japanese performance cars, with values driven by twin-turbo specification, manual transmission, originality, and low kilometres, firmly cementing its place as a modern classic.
