First introduced in 1978, the Toyota Supra has become one of Japan’s most recognisable performance nameplates, spanning five generations and maintaining a consistent front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout throughout its evolution. Early generations (A40/A50, A60, A70) established the Supra as a capable grand tourer, while the fourth-generation A80 (1993–2002) elevated it to global icon status thanks to its turbocharged 2JZ inline-six and immense tuning potential. After a long hiatus, the Supra returned in 2020 as the A90, blending modern technology with the classic straight-six, RWD formula.
